If you’re a guest: this wedding’s dress code is a scarf

From the welcome wall to the dance floor, five moments a scarf spends on a guest through the wedding.

Wedding favours usually stay on the table. A scarf joins the wedding on the guest: picked up at the entrance, put on, it gets into the photos and is still around the neck on the way home.

At Selin and Mert’s wedding, guests took their scarves from a wall at the entrance. Here is the path the scarves took that night.

01At the entrance, from the wall

“A keepsake from our story, please take one.” Each scarf hangs with a small card; guests pick their own colour.

02On the wrist, at the first toast

The easiest way to wear it. Any guest who doesn’t want to fuss with their outfit ties it on the wrist.

03On the chair, at dinner

On the bag handle or the back of the chair as everyone sits down. It looks like part of the table setting.

04In the air, on the dance floor

When the folk dance music plays, the scarves go up in the air. This is usually the busiest, most shared shot of the night.

05On the way home
